A new client, casalambrettausa.com needed an eccommerce style site without an eccommerce function. Casa Lambretta USA is a small mail order parts and restoration company for scooter enthusiasts, with personal service and manual inventory. They required a parts catalog that also functioned as a reference catalog.
First steps were to refresh the old site’s cosmetics using wonderful historic photos, upgrade the navigation for both function and user experience and organize the content into granular bits.

First steps were to refresh the old site’s cosmetics using wonderful historic photos, upgrade the navigation for both function and user experience and organize the content into granular bits.
The parts catalog needed to be comprehensive but simple. Users select a model, then select a system to see all parts needed. The catalog acts as a parts lookup.
Next steps include a full flash catalog with engine diagrams and rollover cross referencing of related parts and hardware groups. This will be done using Flash and an XML data set. Coming soon!
Casa Lambretta USA represents the Casa Lambretta brand in the American Market but the history of the brand is heavily tied to the history of the Lambretta Scooter and the Innocenti factory. The site needed to relay this history and so old photographs from the original factory were used for each of the site sections.
Casa Lambretta USA also offers it's customers a full service restoration shop and these additional services needed to be expounded on the site.
The Lambretta culture is a very diverse one with enthusiasts ranging in age and abilities. The Casa Lambretta USA site is heavily used as a reference for these old scooters.
One of the most important features of the site is the Scooters section where the different models are highlighted. Css is used to make these pages modular and easily scannable, hiding and revealing information upon request by the user.
Casa Lambretta USA is an ongoing client with next steps including the integration of a blog for current news, and a forum for users classifieds.
